Information Literacy Quiz, because I got bored.

This quiz will help you to figure out if you're information literate or not!*It's proven by Science!*
I made this quiz because I got bored after finishing the ILT Midterm Exam and I had 20 Minutes left. So enjoy my most likely poorly put together quiz (I haven't done it yet)

*Not actually proven by science.

What Does Being Information Literate Mean.

Information Literacy can help you solve problems that may be at hand. Being Information Literate means to have the ability to search, find, check for credibility, and use information to solve a problem. Information Literacy, as shown in the image below, covers many topics and skills. The types of Information Literacy include: Media Literacy, Research and Library Skills, Critical Literacy, and Information Ethics. These topics break Information Literacy down into smaller skills. Media Literacy covers Literacy with different types of media, as the name suggests. This means being able to gather information from computers, TV's, etc. Research and Library Skills define the ability to search for information. This means being able to use a Boolean search engine (cats+cute+images) and other search methods. Critical Literacy includes being able to gather information from reading and evaluation. And finally Information Ethics involves properly crediting the author of the information by use of citation. It also tells you how much information you can use that is protected by fair use. Information Literacy is an extremely useful thing to have when problem solving or just trying to find information in general.

My Semester in ILT... "Yeah. S'pretty good."

I made a Tagxedo of this blog, including literally every word on this page. Even things like 'Share' and 'BlogThis'. So yeah, that's kind of annoying. I made it in the shape of a whale BECAUSE WHALES. LOOK AT THESE MAJESTIC CREATURES.

And here is the Tagxedo itself.

MMRP Prezi

Remember that quiz I put on here a bit ago? That was part of a multi-week project researching wolves, and finally I made a presentation using Prezi, it was actually pretty fun. After spending a while researching information on wolves using different websites, all cited at the end of of the Prezi, I answered questions like What do wolves eat, When do they hunt, etc. In the end I learned a little about wolves and their behaviors.

I Made a Quiz on Wolves

Today I made quiz on wolves. It has random facts on wolves like what time they hunt and the name of a wolf expert. I searched for different websites to find facts, images, and a video and cited them using EasyBib. If you want to take the quiz it can be found by clicking on this sentence: Right here, this one, you can do it.

Wolves. Wolves everywhere.... Everywhere

I Like Animating.

Today in ILT we used a program called 'Animationish' to create short animations. This program is pretty good for beginners to learn how frames and FPS works. I like to animate at home using a different program that is a little easier to use, so I didn't have that much trouble making this animation

Dual Rotor Helicopters. Nuff' said.

Using Flickr's commons, today I found an image of a dual rotor helicopter. One of the really cool parts about these is the fact that the anti torque is part of the main rotor module. The tail becomes less of a critical structure to stay in the air. This way however, if one goes out you can lose both at the same time.
